I was talking to a friend who had accidentally let her loans default and was crippled with so much fear that she couldn't even bear to fix it.
We talked through her feelings: shame, guilt, personal failing.
Next, we talked about the systemic issues surrounding why this happened.
Then we put together a game plan to get her out of her situation.
